Laid off: My time to pause and reboot
Sam Diaz

Tough break, Sam … but you’ve got the chops to get another great gig so there’s nothing serious to worry about.

Have to say, though, that when I see a guy with your track record & talent getting laid off twice in the space of a year, it reinforces my decision to go freelance — that way I’m never subject to the whims of a single employer.

It’s perfectly normal to diversify our investments, but everybody has this idea that it makes perfect sense to have zero diversity in our income streams.

In any case you’ll excel at whatever comes your way … not everybody can do the freelance thing, so it’s all a matter of what suits you.

Incidentally there’s a great Facebook group called “What’s Your Plan B” that has tons of job tips — check it out.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
