I’ve looked through all of the press of the time. 5 years ago, absolutely no mention was made of Obama in relation to this play.
This is as close as any of it got:

Melrose’s assertion is complete nonsense meant to deflect the obvious link between this “cathartic” sort of murder and normalizing it in life.
