The new year is finally here and 2019 already feels like it’s going to be a winner. Looking back at 2018, we’re filled with gratitude for the growth we experienced and it was only possible because of the brilliant people we encountered. We’d like to thank our team, partners, customers, and collaborators for joining us in our mission to optimize crop yields through better nutrient management.

At the start of the year, we took the time to look back at how things went, and are so glad we did. While building a startup, it’s easy to get caught up in executing the present and projecting the future, and sometimes we don’t get the chance to cherish every moment. So we put together a short recap of 2018 and would like to share it with you.

Q1:

We fabricated, assembled, tested AND delivered a batch of hardware units and testing kits to a customer in Denmark. Great start!

In March, we attended the , San Francisco accelerator program focused on investor matching and network building in the Valley. Loads of meetings, pitches, and learning about Bay Area fundraising.

Q2:

As spring approached, we filed our first patent centered around the consumable test kits to secure our innovation as we go to market.

We were chosen to meet with a delegation from Qingdao, China through the EU Project Innovation Center . The meeting took place at Miljøstyrelsen, organized by AgroBusiness Park. EUPIC helps European companies with their entry into the Chinese market.

Q3:

Just around peak summertime, we got news that we secured an Innobooster grant from Innovation Fund Denmark. This gave us the support we needed to continue further with the development of our product.

We also exhibited our soil analysis kit at TechBBQ as part of the Danish Tech Challenge accelerator program.

Q4:

In October, was held in Copenhagen and we were not only selected to pitch at the event but also qualified as the top startups in the Nordics to pitch at the European Venture Contest Finals in Dusseldorf!

We were also selected as finalists in the alongside some of the coolest startups in Hardware.

Collecting soil samples from farms in the Zealand region of Denmark.

The highlight of the year was securing new customers to pilot our product.

This means we have a busy springtime helping farmers analyze their soil with our on-farm NPK analysis kit with the goal of optimizing their nutrient management strategy.

So much learning and so many reasons to be thankful. 2018 was indeed a great year. We now look toward 2019 with a keen motivation to take on whatever it has in store for us.
