Northern Lights is so much fun to be a part of. After months of helping our YouTube friends, Brad and I decided to start our own channel. Our first social experiment came by using other’s prank idea. It was so much fun. This time, Brad and his girlfriend came up with the idea of a “crowd drop” or crowd falling. We started planning this crowd social experiment and it was so exciting. We invited over 50 people to be a part of this new prank idea. Many people turned it down because they didn’t like being in a social experiment. One person even stated that a crowd social experiment was rude to others. We had about 25 peoples completely down to do a crowd drop and crowd falling. Around 15 people showed up and we even had two strangers join us in this social experiment. Brad readied the team and explained the prank idea. We went to the Provo Riverwoods for this crowd social experiment. After failing several times, we decided to choose a subject, walk up, use a cue, then perform a crowd drop/crowd falling. It was incredibly difficult to do this social experiment. Maintaining control over this crowd social experiment was a challenge. Many people wouldn’t listen to the cues. In the future, I want more control over the people involved in the crowd prank. We had security on our heels often in this social experiment. When you’re doing something out of the normal, you get extremely self-conscious that others are onto your prank idea and either that you’ll get kicked out of no one will react to the crowd social experiment. Luckily, Brad is INCREDIBLE at directing. He handled the crowd prank so well. We also had Myles Ozo who had amazing insights on this prank idea. Since I’m a hyper or chill guy, directing is a bit harder for me. Those two took care of everything. Safety for this crowd social experiment was priority number one. We had to practice crowd falling multiple times so that no one was injured in the crowd drop. I felt like this prank idea had a bit too high of a risk for a social experiment, but luckily, no one was injured. The basis of this prank idea was just to create a comedically uncomfortable position for strangers to handle. I feel like it’s so important to get outside your comfort zone. I’m so excited for how you guys will react to “crowd falling.” Some of the reactions in this social experiment were increíble. Yelling. Running. Ignoring. I loved being a part of this crowd social experiment. After we finished filming, we went and shot the opening and ending sequences for this crowd drop social experiment video. Many people went their separate ways. The rest of us went to Chick-fil-A in order to have some relaxing time after an intense crowd prank. Since most of us are singers or actors, this prank idea was right up our alley. I perform in front of crowds often, so a crowd social experiment was just like performing a song. This prank idea was incredibly fun. The group we had was perfect for this crowd social experiment. The crowd drop was great. Between crowd falling and crowd tripping, we got around 2 hours of footage. After eating, Zac and I went home to work on Northern Lights Gaming (our upcoming gaming channel). Lee, Ben, and Brad went to edit the video. Zac and I decided that we would create a ranked 5s League of Legends team and record it in order to post it on the channel. Brad stayed up till 3:30am working on editing this crowd social experiment. We’d love to have everyone share this social experiment and even copy this prank idea if you’d like. Northern Lights is more than a channel. It’s a community. As things progress, we will have a few channels: Northern Lights (social experiments), Northern Lights Cinematics (short films), Northern Lights Gaming (let’s plays and gaming content), Jake Grey Studios (skits and music), and Northern Lights Vlogs (vlogs of our lives/BTS). In order for this all to work, we have to start with you. You have to share, subscribe, like, and spread around this crowd social experiment. With your help, we can create more content. With your help, we can make our dreams come true. With your help, we can make intertwine our dreams and your dreams. With your help, we can travel the world. With your help, we can do a social experiment on every continent (besides Antarctica). Now, let’s grow together. Let’s make Northern Lights into a large community where we support each other and lift each other up. As we grow together, we can help others in need and other YouTubers. Thank you so much for watching “Crowd Falling.”
