31-year old native Clevelander here, who just recently moved to Seattle. This article really hit home with me. The thing is, for many years, I was a Clevelander who was falling into the trap of constantly hating on the city, similar to the major media’s narrative about how supposedly shitty Cleveland has been for years.
That said, over the past 5 years, and more specifically 2 years, that city has absolutely changed for the better in dramatic ways. I genuinely miss it, and I see it going through a real renaissance. Whether or not our sports teams win, the core of the city is that it’s filled with great people, tons to do for super cheap, and world-class institutions in the center of it.
