FIVE LOAVES OF BREAD AND TWO FISH

You won't believe what the five loaves of bread and two fish are.

In my previous post, "The Untold Truth About BREAD in The Bible,” I debunked the myth about the two kinds of bread in the Bible.

In the Bible, there are two types of bread: leavened bread and unleavened bread. The difference between leavened and unleavened bread is in the word itself: leaven. Leaven is what is placed in bread dough to make the bread rise.

In this article, I want to further buttress my claim by showing you what the five loaves of bread and two fish are in the Bible.

I tell you the truth: bread was only used in the Bible as a metaphor. The connotation can be traced to your lungs.

The lungs are two air-filled organs that are seated on either side of the thoracic cavity. They are the primary organs of respiration. They help with gas exchange in the pulmonary circulation.

Inside the lungs are airways, which end in tiny clusters of air sacs called alveoli. They are super tiny and inflatable. They expand and contract with each breath.

In the respiratory system, their job is to take oxygen from the air and put it into the bloodstream, and at the same time, they let carbon dioxide out of the bloodstream and into the air. This is called gas exchange.

Breathing is what makes the lungs "bread."

Breathing involves two phases: breathing in and breathing out.

When you breathe in, the alveoli in your lungs expand like leavened bread.

When you breathe out, the alveoli in your lungs flatten, which is why unleavened bread is called flatbread.

Now that we have identified that the lungs are bread, let’s look at the lungs again more closely to discover what the five loaves of bread and two fish are.

The lungs are made up of five lobes, which are metaphorically known as β€œfive loaves of bread.”

The right lung has upper, middle, and lower lobes, while the left lung has upper and middle lobes.

Altogether, the right and left lungs are made up of five lobes, or loaves of bread.

As I mentioned earlier, leaven is what is placed in bread dough to make the bread rise, and breathing is what makes the lungs bread.

When you breathe in, the alveoli in your lungs expand like leavened bread.

What are the two fish?

The trachea (windpipe) is the biggest airway. The trachea divides into two smaller airways called bronchi, which go to the two lungs and end up in clusters of alveoli.

The alveolar walls are wrapped or surrounded by a network of capillaries. These capillaries are like a fishing net. At one end of the capillaries are arteries, and at the other end are veins.

The pulmonary artery, or "priest," brings deoxygenated blood to the lungs for oxygenation. Carbon dioxide escapes and oxygen enters as you breathe in and out.

Oxygenated blood is then transported through venules and into veins.

The two fish that exchange gases around the alveolar membrane are the pulmonary arteries and veins.

GAS EXCHANGE IN THE LUNGS (FROM ARTERIES TO VEINS)(TWO FISH)

In conclusion, the five loaves of bread and two fish represent the five lobes of the lungs and the arteries and veins that exchange gases in the capillary beds around the alveolar membrane.

Matthew 14:17. They said to him, β€œWe have only five loaves here and two fish.”
