What to do with life

“I guess the only watch out here is that as we go through the process of accepting our nothingness is to allow ourselves to naturally discover who we are…” -J.Capito
I love what you said, Auntie. There’s so much truth in it. It’s hard to skip your way to the future as you might miss the best parts, even worse, you might find yourself losing you during the process.
So from the wise words I’ve had from you, plus a bunch of other teachers in life, I hear that:
1.) It’s good to gain experience, but sometimes it’s better to strip off that “built-in mental content” you have in you again. Do not withhold yourself from discovering life, hence, tabula rasa.
2.) One may prepose their “definitive future-self”, but tbh, life usually doesn’t work that way. Without constraints, you might even find yourself doing better.
I believe happiness in life comes with fulfillment; fulfillment comes with purpose. The choices we make throughout the process of “finding ourselves” will ultimately define who we are and what our life will become. The choices we make will always be driven by our sense of purpose.
We sometimes get so preoccupied with the business of our daily lives, routines, and beating of deadlines to the point that we squeeze everything out from our being, thinking that maybe having lots of things to accomplish will give us a sense of fulfillment.
In the end, if we don’t get the ecstatic feeling, we end up getting tired. I sometimes think people tend to complicate things, where in fact we must be asking the basic enquiry in life: a question of reason for existence. The answer to the question though, I cannot find within myself but from the One who put me to existence in the first place. +
