I haven’t posted on the internet in nearly 10 years

There really is a first time for everything.

Two days ago via hacker news, I read Jesse McGraw’s post on reentering society in 2020 after spending a decade detached from technological and cultural change. For a number of reasons I deleted all of my online accounts in 2013, so many of his sentiments resonate with me.

Yesterday at number 2 on news.ycombinator was “Finally, I Closed My LinkedIn” by PC Maffey. Funny, earlier this year I was asked by an incubator why I don’t have one. My tirade must have lasted several minutes. Finally, I’m now on LinkedIn.

In January of this year, I definitely didn’t write my first Reddit post since I began lurking in 2011. It certainly didn’t go viral, especially not on Twitter and it ABSOLUTELY was not a factor when Oklahoma Univerity canceled their trial run of a parking enforcement device. It’s unfortunate the author had to delete their account after receiving suspicious messages. Maybe there are ways to still view the post, though. Hope Big Parking is okay with that.

Over the years I’ve had some interesting experiences. 2015, I met the Pope in BWI.
