I wonder. To call it heterocentric seems unfair, as this is a discussion of past published research on the topic- it’s not the author’s fault, or presumption if no one has researched the already dubious and niche topic on an even smaller group of people.
Then, I’d like to wonder, whether a hypothesised chemical process of optimising the search for an ideal mate for procreation, would even apply between people who are gay. If a system of pheromones exists in humans, it’s of course possible that its only function is to help attract a mate of the opposing sex, and that the same sex’s scents would be neutral at best, or possibly even cause competitiveness etc.
Impossible to say without research, but still, calling the text ‘heterocentric’ is rather silly.
