What to do this (sunny!) weekend
The sun is shining! Dare we even contemplate drinking outdoors? Yes! I’ve tried it and it was amazing!

Here are some top tips for where to bare your lily-white limbs this weekend.
Friday
Surely every plan this weekend has been amended to involve a BBQ? It’s thirsty work poking sausages, so you’ll need to stock up on beers. Hopology are open until 7pm tonight, with some scrumptious offerings.
There’s live blues at Tilt; the perfect backdrop their delicious cocktails.
If funk, soul and motown is more your cup of tea, head to Baresca’s Cellar Bar for a cracking selection of drinks and live music.
Saturday
If you like gin, no doubt you’ll love Hendricks. Head to the Hockley Arts Club at 6pm as they welcome the Hendrick’s ‘Cucumber Courier Bike’….
Fancy a spot of backgammon? Ludorati are hosting a classic boardgames day from 10am to 11pm.
If you love all things vintage, try Rough Trade Nottingham for a retro takeover from 7pm. The excellent Stiff Kittens will be DJing, all the usual drinks will be on offer and you’ll be raising money for the fantastic Sue Ryder hospice charity.
Sunday
If you’re not barbecuing everything in sight, you may fancy a pub lunch or beer garden.
Here are some suggestions from the Nottingham Evening Post.
Heading out of town are the Martin’s Arms at Colston Bassett and the Staunton Arms, Staunton in the Vale. Or head over to the Victoria Hotel and watch the trains go by. All three serve cracking food and great drinks, perfect for a sunny Sunday afternoon.
Happy weekend!
