Just show up.

Early, if possible, and stay late if needed. Proving your keen by putting in the hours will not go unnoticed. Clocking in and out on the dot from day one
may not be the right approach.

Just say yes.

If you’re asked to do something, do it. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know how, you can learn. Let’s face it, that’s what Google’s for. A can (and will) do attitude is a must.

If you really don’t know, ask.

This seems to contradict my previous point, but it’s important to know there’s no shame in admitting defeat, especially when you’re surrounded by a team of experts.

Speak up.

It’s often scary to speak your mind, particularly in a new working environment. But having the balls to confidently present your opinion is sure to pay off in the long run.

Kill your babies.

Learning to let go of your ideas is key, even if you think it’s the best in the room. Working as part of a team means compromising at all stages and accepting decisions made for the greater good.

Put the kettle on.

It’s not all about making tea, but popping on the kettle keeps everybody happy and topped up with caffeine. Top tip: pop it back on the boil when you’re done.

Here’s to the next six weeks.
