Starting with a BANG!!

Following on from our previous Day 1 round up, detailed in the tweet below, we thought we’d give you a round up of Week 1!

Make a brew and settle in for the read…

TL;DR

  • Week one was a success 🎉
  • Highest score for each class ship (Including extra bonus prizes for the class1 and class2) 🏆
  • Highest score overall the whole first week (special prize) 🏆
  • LAUNCHING 1PW AND 3PT 🤔
  • The shipwrights are here and building already 👷🛸👷‍♀️
  • Thousands of dollars of secondary market trades, plus a whole bunch of trades facilitated through Discord 💰

Week 1 success:

First and foremost we are delighted to say that overall week one has been an overwhelming success. Seeing almost a 100 active players and many more engaging with the project from so many different angles: from trading up to get better teams, to staking your NFTs and ICE tokens, openly sharing tips and tricks on how to improve your performance in Ice Hunt, to just the genuine bonhomie in the Discord and on the Telegram.

It’s been a joy for us to witness our community indulging themselves in the Novaverse we’ve created.

From day 1 we’ve used the P2E phraseology, whilst always believing it to be more Play AND Earn. We wanted to create a fun, addictive, retro game where competition, whilst encouraged, isn’t the be all and end all. Huge thanks to each and everyone of you for buying into this and participating in great spirit.

Highest scores for each class ship

Over the course of the week we’ve seen some incredible performances and we’ll get into the minutiae shortly, but for now, here are the headlines:

Top 1 player ship performances

At the helm across every metric for the soloists was the impressive Mihag, who sat atop the pile for Asteroids destroyed (243 — almost 20% more than the nearest competitor, ship #208) Enemies killed (117, although this was level top with ship #218) and crucially Hi-score (2148, 10% higher than the nearest challenger, ship #227). Second place went to ship #227 with a score of 1948 from 208 asteroids pulverised.

Honourable mention in dispatches go to ship #208 in 3rd place with 1796, Daydreamyx who came 4th with 1331 and bookending the top 5, it was Mihag again in ship #218 — wow!

Top 3 player ship performances

Moving up a class it’s the Welsh Wonder that is DaveTaff, who heads the league with a phenomenal score of 6294. A score comprised of a mind boggling 314 asteroids destroyed, which unsurprisingly, topped the asteroid destruction roster too! More interesting, for the statisticians among you, is second place, which went to ship #194, belonging to the titan that is Sully.

Why interesting? you ask.

Well, Sully only managed to come 5th in the enemies killed and 4th in the asteroids destroyed, so either they are absolutely nailing the ratio of ice:fuel asteroids they’re decimating, or their diversity index is better than the other top performers. With 43 less asteroids than Dave Taff, and 20 less than the next best, ship #49, Sully’s done brilliantly to nab 2nd place and in the process push ship #49 into 3rd place!

Enjoying coming in 4th, it’s that Daydreamer again with an admirable 5k+ score and making up the top 5 it’s ship #227.

OK… onto the BIG guns.

Top 6 player ship performances

Let’s count this top 5 up from the rear… At number 5 it’s Random Cryptos, flying a Terror from the Maonod clan, with an incredible 7196 (interestingly they’ve edged themselves out as in 6th place it’s Random Crypto in an Ilithanon Alert, with 7159).

4th place goes to, you guessed it … RandomCryptos. This time utilising a Rumidian Skate and scoring 7290. Boom.

3rd place goes to, wait is this the first time I’m mentioning them?!?, it’s The Mac Man, with 9315

2nd place, with 9349, it’s ship #21, another Terror from the Maonods, but we’re not sure who it is!

1st place, and the first person to break the 10k scoreline, it’s an Ilithanon. It’s an Alert. It’s that man Sully. Incredible performance…. Killing 367 enemies and the only person to date to obliterate over 400 asteroids, with 431 in total. Huge congrats Sully.

We’d love to provide some more shout-outs to people and moreover be able to tag them when they’ve won some prizes! As such, could you take a moment to comment on this spreadsheet with your Discord username (and / or twitter handle), so we can give you the kudos you are due in the community.

Prizes

We’re pleased to announce that each of the categories above are getting some Metal for their efforts.

We’ll be airdropping the following across each of the Classes for top performers of week 1:

🥇 3 Metal (Sully, DaveTaff, Mihag)

🥈 2 Metal (Ship #21, Sully, Ship #227)

🥉 1 Metal (The Mac Man, Ship #49, Ship #208)

Congratulations to all of you… we’re looking forward to seeing some new ships being built!

For future weeks we’re working on something really special that you’re gonna be keen to own. We can’t say too much more right now, but think of all those battle hardened generals that get entry to everything and loads of favours, mainly due to the proliferation of medals on their chest then you might get an idea.

We’re also looking at rewarding streaks for consecutive days played and will provide a few more spot prizes in due course too.

However, the BIG announcement for you all is that we’re launching…

One player Wednesday AND Three player Thursday

That’s right. For the next 10 weeks, until the end of June, we’re gonna be matching the overall ICE Rewards prizes for our everyday competition to our 1 player ships on a Wednesday and our Three player ships on a Thursday.

In total this means we will be paying out an extra $ICE 80,000 every week to our lucky winners; really adhering to the play AND win mantra.

As ever the scores will be counted midnight to midnight GMT.

The economy begins

One of the elements of the Novaverse economy we predicted being really impactful was the impact of shipbuilding — rewarding the regular game players (and lucky Missions runners!) and also allowing more people into the game via the secondary market.

We’re delighted to see a number of ships being built already; congrats to The Mac Man, the inaugural shipwright, but closely followed by DaveTaff, Daydreamyx (twice) then an unknown with ship #235 and finally, the latest ship created, by that man RandomCryptos.

Well done one and all!

More economy deets

Whilst the creation of brand new spaceship NFTs is exciting, there’s also plenty of trading going on in the here and now! Quite a lot as it happens: over $2500 worth and there’s also been a whole bunch of trades facilitated through Discord with the Nova Creed team acting as escrow agents.

Staking Update

With over 250 owners staking over 25 MILLION $ICE now and in excess of 200 avatars staked too, we’re making an important announcement re: our Staking updates tomorrow. Please keep an eye on our Discord and Telegram for more on this.

It will require action on your part, so it is really important to act!

Here’s that tweet we promised reviewing Day 1!
