By integrating the industry-leading decentralized oracle network, we now have the tools needed to help automate and randomize the Nova Pupa Airdrop Feature. The Continued Growth of Nova Pupa by Leveraging Chainlink Services
Nova Pupa is a nano- and micro-influencer marketing portal that delivers an effective marketing service and enables individuals to monetize their online presence in a way that’s effortless, secure, and profitable.
Nova Pupa airdrops are a way to award our community for their continued participation in our ecosystem. Our community will be able to participate in daily or hourly airdrops (to be determined) and receive a select number of Pupa tokens.
In order to build out a robust airdrop process, we needed access to two critical infrastructure services — verifiable randomness and smart contract automation.
Securing Randomness With Chainlink VRF
Whenever airdrops are given to people, the question always remains: have the users actually been selected randomly? We wanted to tackle this issue, and Chainlink VRF was the perfect solution.
Chainlink VRF is a verifiably random number generator. This means that the randomness itself is provable — any person can verify the integrity of the randomness. The service works by combining block data that is still unknown when the request is made with the oracle node’s pre-committed private key to generate both a random number and a cryptographic proof. The Nova Pupa smart contract will only accept the random number input if it has a valid cryptographic proof, and the cryptographic proof can only be generated if the VRF process is tamper-proof. This helps provide users with automated and publicly verifiable proof directly on-chain that each Nova Pupa airdrop using Chainlink VRF for randomness is provably fair and cannot be tampered with or predicted by the oracle, outside entities, or the Nova Pupa team.
Expanding Continuity With Chainlink Keepers
Another goal of ours was to make sure that the airdrops run manually and consistently without needing a centralized entity to trigger the airdrops. The core problem is that smart contracts require an external entity to trigger them, hence the need for a centralized entity, but we wanted to automate this process in a decentralized manner.
A decentralized smart contract automation service can reliably trigger airdrops on a regular basis without requiring constant maintenance on our part. After searching for the best solution, we decided on Chainlink Keepers as our go-to automation service, which is saving us a significant amount of time.
