NovaToken update — January 2020
Good day all,
Somehow we are now in the year 2020. It did not seem that long ago that this date was linked to such promises as flying cars. And while we aren’t yet quite where George Jetson would have envisioned, we have made some pretty big leaps forward, technologically. For NovaToken, 2020 is going to be by far the biggest year in the company.
This month’s update is going to be short and concise as we are in full-out sprint mode towards our MVP release right now.
Development:
The majority of the teams resources are now pouring into ensuring we can deliver our MVP of the NovaToken platform in a timely fashion. This is being worked on in lockstep with our Rewards portal that will be found on the NovaToken.io website once ready.
The work right now is broken down into small groups that are looking at:
- Smart contracts (execution of work across the mainnet and Loom)
- Server side (worker API’s that are communicating from mainnet to Loom)
From there we have various duties like creating an automated (and manual) test environment where test cases are easily executed and fixes are applied and input into the proper branch before being merged into our production builds.
We are also working on shoring up the functionality for:
- 3rd party auctions and other marketplace features
- Reward portal integration with Fusion credits
- NFT creator tool
- Linking of in-game accounts to crypto wallets
- Tournament organizer (pairings, payouts, etc)
- Tightening up the flow of moving assets from mainnet to Loom sidechain
There is much more work going in behind the scenes of course however this offers an accurate glimpse into the key areas we are actively involved with currently.
UI / UX:
All of the well-built features in the world will not be enough unless we have a seamless uses experience for platform adoption. This means that not only does the interface look and feel crisp and intuitive, it functions like this as well when new users begin to make use of our services.
The team is blessed to have some very talented people in the UI / UX world who are currently working on this aspect. A tremendous amount of work goes into this area as this much all align with the expected functionality that the development team is inputting right now. When both the development of the platform and its user friendliness and accessibility are high, users will naturally flock to your product as it will have an inviting aura around it.
This means ever single click of the mouse, every movement and every possible user interaction must be taken into account and worked through to ensure it makes good logical sense .If the instructions are not clear, if the visual is off-putting, if placement is off, any of these errors are more than enough to offer a negative first impression to game developers and gamers alike.
We are taking this process very seriously currently as the team is now coming together to offer support in these areas.
Other:
Areas such as Team growth, marketing, business development, legal, partnerships and many other areas are still being looked at currently however their level of attention is being watched closely as we are now in full-on spring mode with finishing out MVP.
Getting to market is key for us as this also opens up more fundraising opportunities for us. Having investors see a released product, a competent team that delivered on their promises and well-laid plans for the future all increase our odds of securing favorable funding. With limited financial resources and a relatively small team, ensuring everyone is working towards getting our platform ready for adoption is key. We are doing out-reach to various game developers, looking at conferences to attend later this year post-MVP and many other key areas in preparation.
Post-MVP we will also be looking at adding multiple high-visibility exchanges to increase awareness of NVT. The company’s stance is that value of the token will come as utility is being built into it. NVT has never been a get-rich-quick play however we are confident that as we build real services and an economy around the platform, the awareness and demand of NVT will grow very rapidly.
Finally, while we will not be committing to a date for the release of the platform I am happy to announce we are ahead of schedule right now. This is a reflection of our desire to get to market with a quality product, thus shifting many of the teams resources over to what will make or break us — a platform that connects game developers and gamers in a fashion that simply has not been undertaken yet.
And that is a wrap! We are not taking days off right now at Nova HQ and there is a sense of optimism is the are for reasons stated above. We hope you continue to support us as we approach the finish line and fulfill our commitment of delivering on a great product that will meet the needs of the entire gaming industry one day.
