Eyeballs Aren’t Enough for Your Mobile App’s Sucess

The more eyeballs that land on your app, the more money it makes. Simple, right? Not so fast. The problem is that there are a lot of different revenue streams, all of which can be calculated slightly differently. When you compare these revenue streams it’s an apples-to-oranges comparison. You have to sort of reverse engineer the numbers to determine which revenue stream is giving you the best bang for your buck.

Enter eCPM. When you calculate the effective cost per mille of your app’s revenue streams, you can turn those numbers into apples-to-apples comparisons and determine which revenue stream is the most profitable for your company. You can also tweak things like ad placements to see whether that can increase your revenue even more. Targeting users who are most likely to use your app is yet another way to maximize the profitability of your app. If you keep your content kid-friendly you can increase your market share that much more- adult rated apps have a considerably lower market share than apps rated for everyone.
