Good Grades Don’t Mean Anything to Your Employer
Finding the right company culture is just as important as having the right college degree, perhaps even more so. The fact of the matter is once you graduate from college, almost no one is going to look at your transcript ever again. What they are going to look at is your personality, whether you fit in, your drive, and how well you do in an interview. Personality matters in today’s job market- good grades are no longer enough to get you where you need to go professionally.
The top five things employers look for when they interview you are not found anywhere on your college transcript or your resume. Potential employers want to know that you have good verbal communication skills, excellent written communication skills, the ability to solve problems, that you are a team player, and that you show the potential for leadership. If you don’t have those skills, those are things you will need to work on in your own time to make yourself more marketable in the job market.
