What’s a Midlife Crisis Going to Cost You?

More than you might think.

For most, the infamous midlife crisis will begin in one’s early 40's; an average of 43 for men and 44 for women. Categorized with a sense of hopelessness, body negativity (suddenly considering cosmetic surgery), and an overwhelming sense of wanting to feel young again.

But a midlife crisis isn’t for everyone, and sometimes may never manifest in someone. Those who do what they love and work to fulfill their dreams are less likely to find themselves wondering if they have reached their potential in life. Those who put much effort in caring for others over themselves or don’t spend much time pursuing their own interests and hobbies are much more likely to find themselves stuck in a midlife crisis.

Aside from being emotionally taxing, the midlife crisis is also very expensive. From divorces, to exercise equipment, to adventure, it’s easy to run up a high bill when you feel inadequate and old.
