As the spread of the new Coronavirus continues, many foreign workers have been ordered by companies to take leave, and are unable to receive leave allowances.

At the Foreign Labor Support Center established by the NPO Posse, which I represent, there were 257 cases of labor consultation related to Coronavirus in March and April of this year, most of which were related to company closings and the difficulties they caused for their employees who were put on leave.

On June 12th, a man in his 20s, who suffered physical and mental trauma as a result of having his sexual orientation disclosed at his workplace without his consent by his boss, held a press conference at the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare with the support of the NPO POSSE and General Support Union.

The man, speaking in front of the audience, also appealed for help from Toshima Ward where his workplace is located and where it has an ordinance to ban the non-consensual outing of sexual minorities.
