Nathan’s Life

My name is Nathan Christopher Baldwin Roden. I was born in Gateshead, England (a few miles away from Newcastle-on-Tyne). I moved to Virginia when I was very young. Growing up, I traveled a lot, played soccer for a league and for school, and visited my family in both America and England frequently. I moved to Chicago the summer after 8th grade. I feel that Chicago is much better than Virginia because of the people, the businesses (especially pizza places that sold deep dish pizza), and the city. I’ve learned so much coming here to Chicago and I hope to continue learning more.

I typically listen to heavier music (like REALLY heavy music) but I decided to pick this particular song after being introduced to popular 80's music by my girlfriend, I sing this song sometimes out loud and constantly get this song stuck in my head. Everytime I think or sing this song, I think of her and other 80's songs that I enjoy. https://youtu.be/t9jjK6zU4ZU

Here’s a photo of me on Thursday night doing homework (lol lets be real, what else would I be doing on a Thursday night)

This is my dad. He inspires me because he is sometimes ready to offer help to me if I need it. He’s also given me a bit of his humor and I’ve also developed a bit of my own (me and my sister love telling pun, but he totally hates him, and it’s hilarious). (photo credits to my dad)

My girlfriend inspires me because she’s incredibly smart, kind, and thoughtful. She’s helped me through rough times and I enjoy helping her whenever I can. I’ve shared some great memories of Chicago with her and I plan to make many more. (Photo credits to me)

This is my mom. She inspires me because she’s a big help with my life in general and I strive to be like her in some aspects. She can be very kind and thoughtful which I admire about her. (Photo credits to my mom)

One day, once I’ve collected enough money and experience, I want to open up my own pub/restaurant/bar. I’d make it science theme and I’d help sponsor some of local high schools with clubs or supplies. I’d make it family friendly and almost separate the bar from the restaurant area.

When I think of America, I think of how privileged we are to have so much food compared to many other countries. Not only do we have so much food, we also have plenty of fattening foods.

Also when I think of America, I think of our huge military. Nearly all the males on my mom side of the family dating back to the Revolutionary war were in the military. I know that we have such a huge budget for our military and we have the biggest military In the entire world, and we don’t even need such a big one to be honest

Finally, the last thing I thing about when America comes to mind is how many beautiful places there are in the U.S.. There are fields, building, glaciers, mountains, snow, beaches, traveling, natural sights, forests, and cities. In the U.S., since it is so easy to travel, there are many amazing sights to see.
