The Man in the moon? I think not. Across recorded history the moon has been generally regarded as female; the sun as male. Why?
Think about it, Kohen. The light we receive from the sun is DIRECT. That which arrives from the moon however is indirect, having traveled all the way to the moon and then all the way back to Earth; thus it is subtle, casting blue-white light. Then, as the moonlight reflects back yet again to our mind’s eye from water it radiates the magic of the female spirit.
All a matter of personal interpretation, of course. So I am certainly not being dogmatic about this. But I have existed alone in this mountain forest full time for 12 years now, where the moon casts milk white shadows with razor sharp edges, and in listening to the whispers they emanate and the dances they perform, the voices I hear and the footprints I find are decidedly that of the Goddess.
Loneliness is not an option while being bathed in limitless beauty. Altho often deceptive and always fleeting, there is no greater challenge than having the will to extract the wonders of this dimension even while distracted by the gore.
Be well,
