But why the twee, why the rape, why the damsel at all? Dispel the archetype by neglecting it, erasing it, not by augmenting it.

Rather than setting Dolores to ascend from weak to strong, wouldn’t the fully radical choice be to entertain national audiences with a woman growing from strong to stronger?
