Blackout Night
Blackout Night
In the stillness of the city
where neon once danced
with the dark
a quiet blanket falls
soft and unbidden
Streetlights surrender
leaving only the whispers
of forgotten stars
Footsteps grow closer
echoes
of an unknown song
as shadows blend and blur
faces emerge
like dreams
Lovers find one another
by the glow of memory
hands reaching
seeking warmth
in the sudden void
All Hallows’ Eve
a night of veils lifted
yet no spirits roam
only the soft hum of hearts
beating
against the endless night
In the darkness
a city breathes as one
not in fear
but in a shared silence
that sings of what remains
when the world lets go.
