“ I can’t do that when it is so hard for people to, “Like” (or “Recommend”) the post.”

What I am saying is that the Medium interaction regime is unacceptably horrible. It’s stuck between interactivity and social media; “Recommend” is a non-intuitive interaction similar to a “Like,” which discourages real interaction while failing to foster true interaction. Look how difficult it is to have this kind of discussion — I need to “Recommend” your comment to allow others to see it, and when I respond to your comment, it’s treated as a totally independent article in its hierarchy and in my statistical overview. In a word, this is a shitty way to interact.
