Its a shame its Elsevier who have purchased SSRN given their current practice, but SSRN has always been privately owned and run for profit[1].

I would love it if Sci-hub[2] put an end to closed access and all output from publicly funded research were freely available. I’m amazed that many of the funding bodies don’t require reports to be submitted when funded work is completed that they could then publish themselves.
