When you feel low at work…
It maybe something that happened during the previous day that bothers you, maybe a vibe that you share with one of the colleagues you don’t agree with, maybe you jumped the gun and trusted a peer too quickly, whatever it is feeling low at work sucks and your productivity takes a hit.
There are ways to get back to your best…
- Breaking the uncomfortable word wafer
Mostly, it is something someone has said that causes restiveness at work; visualise the words you do not like from the person who said it as wafers coming out of their mouth, break it down, throw the parts you don’t like into the bin. Keep the rest in a wrapper and visualise giving it back to them.
2. The wild west approach
Imagine you are a cowboy with two Colt 45 revolvers (if you may, imagine you are Will Smith from The Wild Wild Wild West rescuing Salma Hayek) and that the words are coming out of the person, you need to shoot them to stay alive. Don’t forget to blow the smoke from the barrels.
3. Bitch about it to your best colleague
Well, there are times when being cheap helps; this is possibly not very agreeable in an ideal world but hey, we are not living in one! So, bitch about it, get it out of your system.
i’m saying this as much to myself as i tell the world but people or their words get to us only when we let them. Heard that ten times already? Now’s the time to actually use the phrase, ‘eleventh time lucky!’
