Registration Now Open for NSNorth 2016

Ticket sales are now open for the fourth annual NSNorth conference!

We welcome you to either click here to register, or you can continue reading to learn more about why we think you should not miss out on this year’s event.

St. James Cathedral Centre, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

We’re very excited. Everything seems new, from the beautiful venue in Toronto to the workshops, but we carry on the tradition of fantastic speakers, plenty of chances to network and meet new friends, and above all else, have a safe and fun time.

When and Where?

This year’s NSNorth will be held at the beautiful St. James Cathedral Centre in downtown Toronto. The event will run from April 28–30.

Late April is a wonderful time to visit as the city transitions into summer mode. Toronto is a really fun city to visit with lots to see and do.

How much?

Early-bird conference passes are 799 CAD. Once again, we also have companion tickets available for 129 CAD. All food and drink is included and companions are welcome to attend the opening reception, keynote, and the banquet dinner on the Friday night. Note that these are early-bird prices.

Diversity Support

Please be sure to take note of our improved Diversity Support program. When you purchase your conference ticket you have the option to enable another person to attend NSNorth by covering a share of their ticket with a Diversity Support Ticket Donation. We thank you and send high fives in advance for helping us make this event, and our community, a more inclusive group.

Our first group of speakers have been announced. We already consider it a rather top-notch group, but we still have more to announce in the near future.

We’re excited to have Pamela Pavliscak join us from New York. She runs Change Sciences, a company with a focus on “making technology more human”. Her research and work in the User Experience side of technology will be a very welcome addition to the dialog during the event.

Also speaking this year is local Toronto game developer, Rob Segal, (@robertfsegal) who co-founded Get Set Games. You might know of Get Set Games’ smash hit, Mega Jump. Rob is also the co-founder of the hugely-popular Toronto Video Game Jam.

Be sure to visit our Speakers page to learn more about the rest of our speakers. We will be adding to the list in the coming weeks.

Technical and Diversity Workshops

One of the biggest requests that we get for NSNorth is for more technical content. Since we always like to keep our sessions more balanced, we have added a pre-conference Technical Workshop. Daniel Steinberg (@dimsumthinking) will be joining us to go deep into the new Swift programming language during the day on Thursday, before the main event begins.

Tickets for the Technical Workshop are 249 CAD when purchased without a main conference pass. You save $50 when purchased together.

Another new development for 2016 is the Diversity Workshops. We are bringing together a diverse group of speakers who will lend their voice to share their experiences and knowledge on various topics surrounding diversity in tech. Come to hear encouraging presentations, learn take-away skills, and take part in meaningful discussions.

Tickets for the Diversity Workshops are 99 CAD.

We are also doing a Call For Proposals for the Diversity Workshops. You can submit your proposals now up until midnight on February 11th. Please head on over to Workshops page for all of the details.

Not to be Missed

NSNorth is more than a tech-talk focussed event. It is designed to inspire you to learn something new amongst an encouraging and aspiration-driven group of friends.

Don’t Delay!

We will have a lot more details as time goes on. Until then, don’t wait too long to grab your tickets! Space is limited.
