For what it’s worth, I would never argue that a song should be worth more than a scientific breakthrough, and not sure that anyone would. There are significant differences in the scope and nature of protection afforded under patent and copyright regimes that helps to explain the distinctions between the two regimes — the most important being that copyright protects only the expression of ideas, and not ideas themselves. The ideas are exposed upon publication of the work.

But more fundamentally, I don’t follow your logic. Seems like you are arguing that we should maintain injustices against creators because there are injustices against inventors. I am afraid that if the existence of injustice in one part of the world preempted action to address other injustices, we would never advance. It is an untenable proposition for enhancing the human condition. Let’s seek to address injustice wherever it appears.
