Introducing Life Skills App— Guidance & Counselling for Digital Natives
Adolescence is a confusing time for most teens; they go through drastic physical, emotional & mental transitions. Without a dependable guide or support system, navigating adolescence can be needlessly complicated and have well-being consequences that could permeate into adulthood.
In today’s world where the attention of adolescents is being competed for by social media & interactive media such as video games, Adolescence Guidance and Counselling struggle to retain the attention of teenagers. Previously successful guidance and counselling approaches such as seminars, training & video course are no longer sufficient to keep adolescents fully engaged.
The Life Skills App is an interactive learning platform that uses Scenario-based games to drive adolescent guidance and counselling. It is designed with the sensibilities of adolescents and young adults in mind. It features game-based lessons designed to equip adolescents with the social and emotional skills to navigate the transition from childhood to adulthood.
Lessons are age-appropriate, scenario-based activities that provide a realistic context for adolescents to build the requisite Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Skills necessary for their teenage years. The Life Skills App also features an intelligent chatbot that provides the opportunity for teens to ask questions relating to topics covered in the lessons.
For Schools, the Life Skills App also provides a convenient way to deliver impactful Guidance and Counselling at scale. The Life Skills App for schools will feature an Admin Dashboard that will allow schools to track each student, classroom & school progress. Additionally, an incident reporting feature will allow students to anonymously report misconduct to the school authorities.
At the start of 2023, we will be releasing our maiden lesson on the Life Skills App - Online Safety Module. This module seeks to equip students with the tools to be able to protect their online identity, their physical selves and their reputation. It consists of 12 game modules focusing on online safety and cyberbullying.
