Roots of wisdom
Have you ever been to a place in life, both literally and metaphorically speaking and realized that the one thing that holds it all together was right in front of you, but you were so mesmerized by the glamour of the main attraction that you completely failed to notice the beauty of this most understated but essential aspect. Thats how I felt when I first saw these roots at Sunwapta falls. I’ve never seen roots like these, like arteries carrying blood, supplying oxygen and providing strength to the weak soil.
Someone told me that the Spurce trees in the Jasper region are 300–400 years old. I wonder for how long these tree roots have silently held this place together while the thundering waterfall next to it attracts hoards of visitors every year.
Human life indeed does mimic nature both in personality and physiology alike!
