FUD
Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt (FUD) refers to having overwhelming negative feelings that can absolutely wreck any previously thought out plans. In media, FUD also refers to the spreading of negative information or misinformation about a particular cryptocurrency, investment, or overall crypto/stock market with the aim of causing a decrease in the value of that cryptocurrency or the market as a whole.
FUD can be spread through various channels, including social media, forums, and news outlets. It can be motivated by various factors, like personal financial gain, rivalry, or political bias. The impact of FUD can be significant, as it can cause panic selling, a drop in the value of the affected cryptocurrency, and loss of confidence in the market.
It’s important to remember than many financial news outlets have motivation to provide incorrect information as they’re partially or fully owned by investment firms and hedge funds.
