NASHA technology, patented by Q-MED AB in Sweden, provides a tight gel, with the minimum stabilization of hyaluronic acid. With this technology, the drug Restylane was created. Raw materials for the preparation of the drug are products of non-animal origin, which have the ability to be combined with the tissues after administration.

Because Restylane is a biodegradable drug, it can eventually be excreted on its own. Restylane is a new challenge is skin rejuvenation, facial contouring, and the creation of extra tissue volume and the natural smoothing of unwanted wrinkles and creases. Restylane has been thoroughly clinically tested and tested, according to the FDA, the drug is considered absolutely safe.

In addition to the effects of hyaluronic acid, the effect of a number of Restylane preparations is due to the fact that being viscous gels, they mechanically fill the recesses of the skin, lifting and smoothing its upper layers.

Restylane includes three groups of drugs

The first group — care products, very expensive and effective creams, balms, serums (we will not touch on them).

The second group is skin boosters used for mesotherapy and biorevitalization. These include:

  1. Restylane Vital — gel for intradermal injection in order to improve the general condition and appearance of the skin. Unlike conventional mesotherapy, it gives a longer result due to the fact that it stimulates the production of your own skin collagen. It can be used for mature skin or young skin with pronounced signs of photoaging.
  2. Restylane Vital Light — for biorevitalization of thin, sensitive skin of the face, or delicate skin of the hands, neck, décolleté. Effective for young skin with mild signs of wilting. It is introduced using a special device that allows you to measure the microdoses of the drug accurately.
  3. Restylane Lip Refresh іs a preparation for moisturizing and rejuvenating the skin of the lips, without correction of contours and volume.

The third group — Restylane fillers, injection gels for filling wrinkles and correction of facial contours. This group includes:

  1. Restylane Touch — gel to fill in fine wrinkles.
  2. Restylane — the basic composition for filling wrinkles of small and medium depths, creases, skin folds, sometimes it contains lidocaine for pain relief.
  3. Restylane Perlane — has a higher viscosity than the basic Restylane, so it is used to correct average size and deep wrinkles: puppet wrinkles in the corners of the mouth, nasolabial folds.
  4. Restylane Sub Q — designed for contour plastics due to the increase in the volume of the cheekbones, chin, cheeks.
  5. Restylane Kysse— for correction of the contour and volume of the lips.

Indications and contraindications, effectiveness for different ages

As you could already guess from the description of various Restylane products, indications for their use are:

  • correction of facial and static wrinkles of varying severity;
  • treatment of scars and the effects of acne by filling and aligning the recesses of the skin;
  • contour plastic and enlargement of parts of the face and lips, elimination of asymmetry.

Restylane preparations are effective for young and mature skin. After 40 years, they are recommended to be combined with botulinum toxin injections (procedures are not carried out simultaneously, with an interval of 2–3 weeks).

After 50 years, with strong age-related changes, contour grafting using Restylane, and other fillers, is ineffective, and a pronounced result can only be achieved using surgical methods.

Contraindications to the use of Restylane:
1. allergy to the components of the drug (hyaluronic acid);
2. bleeding disorders or the use of anticoagulants;
3. acute period of illness;
4. implants under the skin of the face;
5. inflammation on the skin;
6. age up to 18 years;
7. pregnancy, lactation.

Procedure, rehabilitation period, consequences
The procedure usually takes from several minutes to half an hour — it depends on how many zones are adjusted. Some Restylane preparations contain lidocaine, so the injections are almost painless, in other cases, local anesthesia is carried out by applying an anesthetic gel to the skin.
With a successful procedure, rehabilitation is not required.

Limitations:

  1. during the day it is not recommended to apply cosmetics to the injection sites,
  2. two weeks you can’t use the sauna, sunbathe, carry out chemical and laser peels, in the first days after the procedure, it is better to limit physical activity,
  3. sometimes the beautician prescribes massage of the injection area for several days.

How long does the result last?

The effect usually lasts for 6–10 months, sometimes even up to one and a half years, depending on which remedy, in which part of the face and in what quantity was used.
For lips correction, this period is usually shorter (3–4 months), since this area is more mobile and is more supplied with blood.
In a word, Restylane deserves to become our ally in the struggle for young, flowering skin. If problems arise when using it, it is not the drug that is to blame for it — it is, in the general opinion of experts, very high-quality and reliable, but the insufficiently skilled hands of some cosmetologists. Those who turned to the masters, the result almost never disappoints.
