OVERVIEW
Despite immense progress in the web3 space, User Experience (UX) remains one of the biggest hurdles for mass adoption. According to Wells Fargo, “cryptocurrencies eventually will follow an accelerated adoption path similar to recent digital inventions”. This coming true would be great news for web3, although these inventions also had a rough start because of a common factor: User Experience. BLS Wallet enables an enterprise-level UX for users and developers, and through this new integration, Nuvo will now be able to offer this grade-A UX to all its integrated dApps and dApps in Andromeda.
SPECIFICATIONS
BLS Wallet is an end-to-end system that will allow NuvoOne to easily plug BLS signatures directly into their code. By employing BLS signatures for transactions, multiple signatures can be combined into one assuring all transactions are still verified. By requiring one signature, instead of the many that are traditionally needed, less data needs to be stored on-chain, making transactions even cheaper.
To this date, almost all transactions in Ethereum originate from Externally Owned Accounts (EOA), which we all know as the standard Ethereum addresses. The main issue with them, though, is that they have limited functionality. Smart contract wallets, on the other hand, allow more flexibility for a better user experience.
BLS Wallet provides the necessary infrastructure for a smart contract wallet for Ethereum Layer 2s, like Metis Andromeda, and integrated with wallets, like NuvoOne. Some of the key features enabled by smart contract wallets include:
- Gasless transactions / Subsidized Transactions
- Account abstraction
- Account recovery
- Upgradeability
- Multi-action
Nuvo is very excited about this recent integration and sees this as a great opportunity for NuvoOne to position itself as Andromeda’s main wallet. This will also provide an opportunity for Metis Andromeda’s dApps and users to experience a grade-A UX and DX while interacting with the network from now on.
