Step Out of your comfort zone

It might seem to be an ordinary day for others but for me, it was a challenging day. Because it is always difficult for me to go out on my off days from university due to my laziness. But then I took some effort and got some courage to come out of my comfort zone and finally I decided to go for an in person drop. It seems hilarious, but it was quite interesting. Because sometimes being crazy also matters.
So, I started got ready for this to go extra mile, practiced my elevator pitch, printed out my resume and cover letter and wore some nice clothes and talk to myself that I can do it. After that I rushed to the hospital which I selected for in-person drop. It was a private health care setup, Maaz Hospital. It took me 10–15 minutes to reach there. As it was my 1st experience so I wasn’t aware about hospital premises, so I asked Security guard for the exact location. He guided me to the room of Dr. Farah, she is the head of hospital. But her assistant told me that I should get an appointment a day before meeting. I requested him and told that I just want to drop my resume and cover letter. So please let me talk to ma’am once.
I waited for about 2–3 hours and this was the worst time because I wasn’t even confirmed that even after waiting that long I will be able to meet or not. But after long long wait, the most awaited time came when he asked me to go to the office. I was tired but excited as well. That wasn’t a long meeting as I expected. She just asked me, that why I want to meet her personally, she seems surprised by my idea of doing this but unfortunately there wasn’t any vacancy for Nutritionist. But the good thing was that she accepted my resume and Cover letter and she also told me that they will consider creating a position for nutritionist.
It wasn’t as scary as I was thinking, and my experience was not as good as I was expecting but one thing that made me happy that at least I tried to step out of my comfort zone which I never ever tried to think to do so.
Move out of your comfort zone. You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new.
