Why is ETH falling?

In the last seven days ETH exchange rate dropped drastically from $600 to less than $520 on the state of Apr, 22. This is more than 30% decrease in the last month, almost the pace of BTC’s recent drop. But while crypto community has already got used to the high volatility of BTC, ETH reaching the benchmark of $500 has caused fresh panic among its significant part — ICOs owners and contributors.

So why is this happening, anyway? I believe that nobody has a doubt that ethereum is a platform that has become an integral part of crypto ecosystem. But such drastic decrease compared to BTC rate means only one thing: unfortunately due to high volatility of crypto (especially BTC), most players on the market see it only as a speculative instrument.

As for me, I don’t see any significant reason for ETH fall compared to BTC. I’m not a great fan of Buterin and his personality, and his complicated and often eccentric revelations, but I can’t help admitting that infrastructure value of BTC and ETH is incomparable. I will continue to hope that sooner or later Ethereum will become the crypto #1.
