Getting Grateful

Do you ever feel like you are on a bit of a hamster wheel, day to day, week to week, whooshing in and out of the weekends, and then you think, god this is my life! Im barely taking it in. I think this is pretty normal, but I do believe there is one tiny simple thing you can do to just make yourself pause, be mindful and reflect. At the end of your day take a minute and rewind, what are just 5 nice things that happened to you today?

I think of all the mindfulness tips, this is probably the simplest. It can so quickly turn what you thought was a pretty average day around to actually a pretty awesome day. My husband and I have made it a thing, when we’re lying in bed about to switch the lights out, we retrace our day, it can be such tiny and seemingly irrelevant things that we list; a good coffee, an interesting chat with an uber driver or making our son laugh. But without question, that little moment of stillness, of gratitude, always makes you feel full up. It really does.

This week is simple, each day remind yourself of 5 good things, you can tell them to a partner, friend, family member or just write them down. I also love hearing about people’s days, so if you want to share, please tell me too, using #NWZen.
