Revolution or Evolution: What Next for VC

For what it’s worth, I think given the uncertainty around many of the points raised, that the smartest move is a focus on evolution. From a founders point of view (disclaimer: StoryStream, the company I co-found is backed by MMC), that evolution is a shift from VCs being predominantly financial services companies, to a broader scope that embeds the start-up into an eco-system that will profoundly increase the chances of success. I see this point of difference coming from a variety of different initiatives such as peer support from other portfolio companies, entrepreneur input, empathy and war-stories in and out of the board-room and help with common shared services.
