Academic Mindset

“Mindset is a set of ideas and attitude that shape the way people think about the world and themselves”. It is primarily based on if they can be developed or fixed. A person with a fixed mindset believed that his intelligence and personalities are fixed and cannot be developed whereas one with a growth mindset believe personality and intelligence can grow through hard-work, dedication and experience. For example a fixed mindset personality is one co-related to a college student who thinks or believes that a particular subject is rather to easy or too hard for his or her intelligence. One with a growing mindset would take a particular subject as a challenge and will tend to work harder to meet their goals.

Recent studies have shown that students with a growing mindset tend to do better in school than those with a fixed mindset. They are always willing to accept their mistakes and see failures as something that you can learn from.
