I would say that it’s one of the best places to visit in country. There is a unique energy and character with over 150 languages spoken. Rich in history with stunning views of the Manhattan skyline, Astoria has something for everyone. Whether you are a new resident or a tourist, there is plenty to do. I will share my favorites with you.

Coming From Times Square

If you’re a tourist coming from the Times Square area, hop on the N or W train toward Queens. You will ride the train with many young professionals as well as with old-timers. Many have called Astoria home for over 60 years.

Outdoor Friendly

Astoria Park

Fan of the outdoors? Love beautiful views of the New York City skyline? Then Astoria Park should be at the top of your list. This 60-acre park situated along the East River is the perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon. Set up a picnic blanket on the grass underneath the Triborough Bridge while enjoying the view. The Triborough Bridge was recently renamed the RFK Bridge after Robert F Kennedy. It spans the river and connects Queens, Manhattan, and the Bronx.

Visits during the day will allow you to play tennis or basketball, or simply relax on a bench. During the evening, take a stroll along the waterfront while enjoying the view. The swimming pool is usually open from June through September as well. Before visiting, be sure to check the calendar of events on the NYC Parks website.

During the summer months, FREE concerts and special events are happening at the park every week. Be sure to check out this page for calendar dates and times.

Triborough Bridge

Right above Astoria Park sits the beautiful Triborough Bridge, now officially known as the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge. The Triborough Bridge is a complex of three bridges and several smaller bridges and tunnels that connect the boroughs of Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx in New York City. The bridge spans the East River, connecting the three boroughs and providing an important transportation route for commuters, commercial vehicles, and tourists. Their famous $1.50 hot dog and soda combo can’t be beat. For pizza lovers, all topics on a pie can feed the entire family for $10. An ice cream cone for dessert, and you’re ready to go.

Rich in history with stunning views of the Manhattan skyline, Astoria has something for everyone. Whether you are a new resident or a tourist, there is plenty to do. I will share my favorites with you.

Coming From Times Square

If you’re a tourist coming from the Times Square area, hop on the N or W train toward Queens. You will ride the train with many young professionals as well as with old-timers. Many have called Astoria home for over 60 years.

Outdoor Friendly

Astoria Park

Fan of the outdoors? Love beautiful views of the New York City skyline? Then Astoria Park should be at the top of your list. This 60-acre park situated along the East River is the perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon. Set up a picnic blanket on the grass underneath the Triborough Bridge while enjoying the view. The Triborough Bridge was recently renamed the RFK Bridge after Robert F Kennedy. It spans the river and connects Queens, Manhattan, and the Bronx.

Visits during the day will allow you to play tennis or basketball, or simply relax on a bench. During the evening, take a stroll along the waterfront while enjoying the view. The swimming pool is usually open from June through September as well. Before visiting, be sure to check the calendar of events on the NYC Parks website.

Triborough Bridge

Right above Astoria Park sits the beautiful Triborough Bridge, now officially known as the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge. The Triborough Bridge is a complex of three bridges and several smaller bridges and tunnels that connect the boroughs of Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx in New York City. The bridge spans the East River, connecting the three boroughs and providing an important transportation route for commuters, commercial vehicles, and tourists.
