Ilona Staller was Koons’ first wife. The pair moved to Munich after getting married, and Ludwig, their first child, was born there in 1992. Koons marriage collapsed soon after Ludwig was born, sparking a protracted legal dispute that is still raging today. Koons has one child Ludwig Maximillian Koons. Justine Wheeler is koons second wife, she is an artist as well.

Koons was born to Henry and Gloria Koons in York, Pennsylvania. While his mother worked as a seamstress, his father dealt in furniture and was also employed as an interior decorator. When Koons was nine years old, his father used to put replicas of old master paintings that Koons had painted and signed in the shop display in an effort to draw customers.
