Marilyn Vos Savant, known for having the highest IQ ever recorded at 228, had a humble beginning in St. Louis, Missouri. Her parents, German and Italian, sought the American dream and were born in 1946. At the age of 10, Marilyn took the Stanford-Benet intelligence test, which showed her mental age was 22. Her IQ exceeded Albert Einstein’s estimated 160–200, mathematician Terence Tao’s 225–230, and child prodigy William James Sidis’ 250–300.
Despite her extraordinary intellect, Marilyn chose a different path and attended a community college before leaving Washington University to manage her family’s investment business.
