The majority of kecak dance players are male, whose numbers reach dozens. But there are also women who danced figure “Shinta” in kecak dance. The dance is performed by male dancers sitting in a circular line by saying “cak cak cak cak cak” repeatedly, then raising arms, describing the Ramayana story when many monkeys are helping Rama against Ravana. Kecak comes from Sang Hyang Dance / Ritual Praises Sang Hyang which means dance that the dancers are in unconscious state and communicating with supernatural spirits.
