I was 14 and really eager because I could start working next year. So I started looking for a job when I was 14, calling up different places and looking to work somewhere. So then one day I called this restaurant called “Guru Palace” it was a small Indian restaurant that held parties and had a lot of different functions. After talking to them I got an interview and got the job when I turned 15. So now I work for them and its been two months working for them. When I first went I was nervous and hoped nothing would go wrong. I met the manager and she showed me around and showed me what I was going to do. I was assigned to look and help the party rooms. I was there collecting plates from tables, and making sure the food was there and making sure everyone got what they needed. Also at the end of the day I used to clean and wash the plates, obviously it was not fun but it showed me how to work hard and told me if I don't focus in school I'll end up doing that job my entire life. Now I am passionate to do well and work hard to have a good career. My personality helped me get a lot when I work. I am a little guy who always has a smile in whatever I do and I try my best to make my customers happy. My personality helped me get a lot of tips, I never expected to get one, but when I did good, I got one. It brings me such a big joy when people appreciate the hard work that I put in. What I love most about my job is that I get to meet a lot of different people and I get to experience how the restaurant business works. I also love the fact that I get to learn how hard it is to get $9. A lot of kids don't understand the value of money, and yes I was one of those kids until I started to earn. I saw how much hard work I had to put in just to get $9 and now I appreciate every single penny. The greatest lesson I've learned was to really appreciate money and also do whatever you have to do to make the customer happy. I say do whatever it takes to make your customers happy, because they are truly the ones who give you the business and make your company successful.
