Game 16: Oakland 6 Yankees 2

Khris Davis, Coco Crisp, Mark Canha and Chris Coghlan all homered as the A’s swept a three-game series from the Yankees. Rich Hill threw a bunch of pitches early, then settled down to strike out 10 in six innings of work. He now has 29 strikeouts in 19 innings pitched this season.

The A’s improved to 9–7, while the Yankees fell to 5–9. It was the A’s first sweep at Yankee Stadium since 2006.

On the negative front, Danny Valencia was put on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained ankle. Tyler Ladendorf joins the A’s on Friday. Liam Hendricks allowed two base runners in the ninth, so Ryan Madson came on in relief to pick up the seven-pitch save.
