The point is valid. But I feel like this article could be written in much less words. Especially the author does not need to explicitly address why people should listen to you. If your point is valid, the reasonable people are going to listen. For the crazy ones, no matter how much you explain how valid you are to be listened to, they are going to react crazy as they are.
