The Samurai/Bushi

The noble warrior
Bethroted to death from birth
Plagued by his undying pursuit of honour
And slaved by loyalty

Trained to be strong and bold
Taught to solve problems with his Katana
For every perfect arc made with his sword
Is a reminder of his purported authority

Riding furiously on horseback into battle
Eyes unblinking and bloodshot
Arms at sharp angles wielding retribution
Crazed, as if possessed by a bad Kami

It is safe to say the samurai dies everyday
For it is the way of the warrior; of bushido
The surest means to enter into everlasting communion with the Divine
In order to accept death with gratitude
