Well said. It’s also worth noting that Segwit alone only ever had around 30% of miner support. That’s not anywhere close to consensus. The fact that Segwit was force deployed by just a few BitcoinCore developers without larger support is hard for them to justify, but that’s what happens when a centralized development group is making decisions.
The move to Segwit2x will not only allow for additional immediate scaling but it will also push for more decentralized development and a much healthier development environment as a result.
