Orcs sent by Saruman and Sauron slaughter Boromir and catch Merry and Pippin. Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas banter which pair of hobbits to follow. They choose to seek after the Orcs taking Merry and Pippin to Saruman. In the realm of Rohan, the Orcs are killed by an organization of Rohirrim. Cheerful and Pippin escape into Fangorn Forest, where they are gotten to know by Treebeard, the most seasoned of the tree-like Ents. Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas track the hobbits to Fangorn. There they startlingly meet Gandalf.

Gandalf offers Saruman an opportunity to get some distance from abhorrent. When Saruman won’t tune in, Gandalf strips him of his position and the greater part of his forces.
