Oceans and Us announces the launch of its first limited edition NFT collection and its ‘Global boat build Challenge’
As vast as our Oceans are and as countless the number of plastics in them, we believe bringing together ‘People for the Planet’ as a movement will save our Oceans
‘Oceans & Us’ is a movement initiated by Entrepreneurs who are passionate about making a positive impact on Climate Change and the environment by cleaning up our Oceans and using technology for good. Our Mission is to continue to grow the ‘Us’ Community, as we focus on building a movement towards saving our Oceans and marine life together.
Purpose
A healthy ocean is essential if we are to keep our climate in balance, feed a growing population, support economic development, and protect habitats and treasured wildlife.
Approximately 13 million tonnes of plastic leak into the ocean every year, contaminating food webs, damaging ecosystems and impacting human health and livelihoods. Plastic production is expected to quadruple by 2050. We aim to work with governments, businesses, universities, entrepreneurs, cities and citizens to not only remove plastic from our oceans but also reduce plastic pollution at the source. We aim to empower ocean cleanups and repurposing ocean plastic waste through Web 3.0 initiatives.
Our Journey
In efforts to raise awareness about ocean clean-up, and marine conservation, and promote Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while being inclusive of the community which helps us achieve our goals, Oceans & Us will be kickstarting the initiatives in a multi-phase launch.
Phase 1: Launch of the 555 limited edition Oceans & Us NFT collection and the ‘Global Boat Build Challenge’ — build an autonomous boat to collect ocean waste.
Phase 2: Creation of the tokenomics to tie into the revenue stream of the Oceans & Us ecosystem and the first ocean waste collection vessel.
Phase 3: The deep blue…
Our goal is not only to enable a digitized ecosystem of passionate activists, sustainability professionals and educators to grow and ideate over solutions that help us collectively ‘set the best foot forward’, but also to fundraise and onboard thousands of similar projects onto the Web 3.0 ecosystem.
The First limited edition Oceans & Us NFT collection will be dedicated to a series of limited edition art pieces, shedding light upon the depleting and endangered Marine Species, including the Leatherback Sea Turtle and Blue Whale. Community members and collectors will be consistently incentivized through real-world utility with sustainable fashion brands, restaurants and much more across the globe. Funds raised through sales of these NFTs will be utilized to build partnerships with organisations and brands with sustainable practices while also assisting in the development towards stage 2 and the 1st prototype of our river cleanup vessel.
Future Outlook
Oceans & Us does not end there, that is just the beginning of the ecosystem. Unlike conventional companies who look to solve climate issues with the core factor of self-benefit, we at Oceans & Us look to build a collective using the fundamentals of Web 3.0 to prosper together in our endeavours for a cleaner world.
The project will partake in multiple revenue streams post launching a boat; Plastic credits and Fuel credits. Oceans & Us aims to sort the plastic waste collected and monetise the recyclable by on-selling it to sustainable manufacturing brands and turning the non-recyclable into biodiesel fuel. Both of these revenue streams will be tied into the company and its mission via Cryptocurrencies using blockchain, the Ocean Token. More detail about the tokenomics, to be announced.

A global action group connected seamlessly to unlock the true capabilities of “Us” backed by technology. “Us” will be composed of those that are passionate about marine conservation and preserving the diversity in our oceans, those who enjoy pristine waters, and those who will not settle for the status quo.
