Well said Tracy. Your narrative is quite poignant. Admittedly, I can relate to being marginalized & condescended. As a USAF Veteran & STEM professional/student — it seems clear how different the world is today compared to when I was in my youth. My dreams and goals with respect to STEM have somewhat been diminished over the years as a result of toxic cultures in our country. As I eagerly push forward, I find hope in knowing that I am not alone nonetheless dream of a day when inclusiveness is the norm. To be seen as a professional rather than the stereotype is my prayer.
