But, now the times have changed.

The bitcoin price has increased. And, as the value is increasing, so are the options for spending it. While you still can’t use it to buy daily groceries, there’s a lot more you can buy with bitcoins. Despite its volatility, bitcoins are still accepted by many companies and merchants. However, if you’ve still not entered the crypto world, here is how you can buy your first bitcoin.

And, here is a list of things you can buy using bitcoins.

· Travel

Many travel platforms such as CheapAir, Expedia and BTCTrip accept bitcoin payments for booking flights, hotels, and more. BTCTrip is even explicitly designed to make payments in bitcoins.

Microsoft is accepting bitcoin from 2014. You can pay with bitcoins in app stores for downloading games, movies, and app-based services. Even some musicians like Bjork and Imogen Heep lets you download their music in exchange for cryptocurrencies.

However, you cannot move funds into the Microsoft Online Store.

Yes, you can exchange cryptocurrency for metals like Gold and Silver. Several companies including GramGold, JM Bullion, and APMEX provide the option to buy gold and silver with digital money.

Nowadays a wide number of charities are starting to accept cryptocurrencies.

Luxury real estate has also started to accept bitcoins. Bitcoin Real Estate allows its users to buy or sell their home directly in Bitcoin and lists properties worldwide for sale, which can be purchased in the legacy cryptocurrency.

Apart from the listed examples, there’s an incredible diversity of products you can buy with cryptocurrency. Major online merchants such as Overstock, Shopify, Newegg, and Etsy allow users to pay for the services and products in bitcoins.
